WHAT IS SOCIAL ISSUES ?
Guys first hope u all are well and doing good, so I am back with a very good topic which is social issues, let’s first ask ourselves that what is social issues and as an individual or society do we actually face it ??
A social issue is a problem that affects many people within a society. It is a group of common problems in present-day society and ones that many people strive to solve.
Social issues do not affect the society only but as well as the individuals of all age category or groups no matter you are a student, a child or a parent it affects everyone in the society, and also it has negative consequences which affects many people, they often reflect current events but also represent longstanding problems or disagreements that are difficult to solve.
In today’s generation social issues affects many people including the teenagers.
Today's teenagers are facing issues that no previous generation has ever seen. The advancement of technology has literally changed the living style of people including the youngsters, teenagers not only living style but also the way of interacting, socializing with peers is quite different due to overuse of technology.
The usage of technology including the social media platforms is changing the habits of teenagers for instance they way to communicate, interact, sleeping hours are also reduced and many more. In fact most of the teenagers spend most of their time using their electronic devices like mobile phone, laptop, computers and many more and this includes using social media too.
Hence, this generation faces a lot of social issues, some of the social issues are as follows:
ACADEMIC PROBLEMS
Most of the teenagers face a lot of academic issues which includes low concentration in studies due to over usage of technology and also social media and also this leads to failing in studies and drop out from schools too.
PEER PRESSURE
While peer pressure isn't a new issue, social media brings it to a whole new level. For example, is a major cause for concern as many teenagers do not understand the lifelong consequences that sharing explicit pictures can have on their lives, but sharing inappropriate pictures is not the only thing teenagers are being pressured into doing.
More and more teenagers are being pressured doing drugs, and even bullying other kids. To keep your kids from falling victim to peer pressure, give them skills to make healthy choices, and to resist peer pressure. Also, talk to teenagers about what to do if they ever face such situations, advise them , try to understand them and think from their point of view, do not just put your decisions or choices on them, know what they want in life and advise them too.
Sometimes, kids can make poor choices and may be too afraid to seek help. Make sure they are not afraid to come to you when they make a mistake whether it’s a parent, guardian or anyone they are close to. Make sure that you listen to them without judging or overreacting and instead find healthy ways for them to make amends and move on only then they will be able to share everything with you.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Twitter etc can be great ways for teenagers to connect with one another; but social media can be problematic for several reasons. For instance, social media can expose the teenagers to issues like cyberbullying, hacking and so much more and, while there are some benefits to social Medias also there are a lot of risks as well.
Social media can have a negative impact on friendships due to misunderstandings. It can even impact their mental health.
But, no matter what precautions you take, teenagers are still likely to be exposed to unsavory people, unhealthy images, and sexual content online.
While there are measures being put into place to reduce the risks kids face online, it's important for parents to get involved.
Help your teenager learn how to navigate social media in a healthy way. Talk about ways to stay safe online.
BULLYING
Bullying is when someone is picked on by a person or group. Bullies might make fun of people who they think don't fit in.
Bullies might make fun of others for many things, but most of the time its due to either jealousy or envy, the bullies are afraid that others can be ahead of them , and they use this way to frustrate the other person thinking that they will just give up and fail too and this is done almost in every school whether its governmental or private one, and we should advise our teenagers not to keep quiet but to raise their voices again this and stand up for themselves and against the person who bullies or troubles them because if they keep quiet some other person can face this not only that but at times during bullying situations either the student who raised their voices against this is silenced or if the other person is well known or influential then no action is taken against them, they are just left on the basis of a warning ,and we must teach our kids from now that they must stand up for themselves and raise voices against injustice happening to them no matter how many difficulties they face cause if they keep quiet then things can get worse and later on it will be difficult to handle them.
“DON’T WAIT FOR THE CHANGE, BE THE CHANGE.”
Don’t wait for someone else to bring the change, be the reason for that change or transformation, and this includes stand up against the injustice happening around you.
Other social issues include Stress, Depression, Drug abuse, Anxiety, Family problems, Racism, Suicide, Gender discrimination, stereotyping and many more.
In fact the most common issues most of the teenagers of this generation face is having suicidal thoughts whenever they feel they can’t do anything in life and this life is a burden to them the first thought which normally comes into their mind is “SUICIDE,” sometimes they also think life has not been fair to them, and they are not able to achieve anything in life , and they feel left out in every field that’s when they have suicidal thoughts, but this is not the solution to any problem because suicide is the same as running away from those problems like a coward and not facing them bravely hence in life if we ever get such thoughts we should try and avoid them, and instead think of a better way or solution to any of the problems we are facing and we should face them bravely .
“ANYONE CAN RUN AWAY, IT’S SUPER EASY. FACING PROBLEMS AND WORKING THROUGH THEM, THAT’S WHAT MAKES THEM STRONG.“
So learn to face your problems and not running away from them because the bravest thing every person can do in life is continuing their life when they wanted to die and this will make you strong within .
We as teenagers of this generation face a lot of issues and sometimes these issues affects us mentally and physically to that we tend to hid ourselves from this world thinking they will judge us but this is not the solution to these problems, we must learn how to stand up against these issues and face them bravely, and if not alone then by taking help of our close ones.
Sometimes we fear that if we raise our voice against someone doing wrong with us or with anyone then they can harm us but if we keep quiet then we are neither being fair to others nor being loyal to ourselves and our values.
At last as a teenager I would like to advise all the teenagers, youngsters that raise your voices against any injustice happening anywhere and if you’re facing any social issues try and seek help from your close ones and also respect each other and behave nicely with each other.
“TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED.”
If you wish people to treat you with respect then you should treat them with respect too, if you want them to behave nicely with you then you should be nice to them too and etc
DEAR PEOPLE, LETS RAISE OUR VOICES AGAINST ANY INJUSTICE HAPPENING AROUND US AND LETS FACE THESE SOCIAL ISSUES BRAVELY AND IF POSSIBLE TRY AND SEEK HELP FROM YOUR CLOSE ONES <33

Keep it up 😘
